1. I am starting a new challenge. I will do my best to finish.
2. I listened to 7 ½ Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners and these are my comments.
Habit 1: Begin with the end in mind. Most of the time I follow this sentiment. However, when things get harder and the end seems too far to reach, I need to remind myself that each of my small steps will help me to reach my goal.
Habit 2:Accept responsibility for your own learning.I strongly agree with this statement and have been taking responsibility for my learning.
Habit 3: View problems as challenges. I do try to find any silver lining whenever life throws curve balls at me. Whenever I practice this habit, I feel less anxious and more realistic.
Habit 4: Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner.I do think that I follow this statement all the time.I always tell my daughters that when learning anything first try to understand the basics because this makes it easier to learn more complex issues.
Habit 5: Create your own learning toolbox. I have a few learning tools in my toolbox, but I try to add more along the way.
Habit 6: Use technology to your advantage. I have always wanted to learn anything and everything that will help me with my life, even though it usually takes more time for me to grasp today's fast paced technology.
Habit 7: Teach/mentor others. This is my favorite statement of all.Whenever I share, teach or mentor anyone with my knowledge and encouragement, I feel more humble and happy. Sharing my knowledge or information is a second nature to me, whether someone likes it or not.
Habit 7 ½:Play. I have no problem with this habit, because I can't help being young at heart.
